Mazar #2 Regular Seeds were sourced from near Mazar-i-Sharif in Balkh Province, northern Afghanistan, in 2022. This is a landrace variety traditionally used to make hashish by the sieving method. Grown at approxiamtely 36° north.
These Mazari plants are a mixture of indica and sativa phenotypes, like many Afghan and Pakistani landraces, mostly very wide, broad-leaved plants that grow to a height of 100 - 400cm. tall but with some thin-leaved phenos. Known locally by farmers as ‘Mazari’, ‘Balkhi’, and ‘Mazar-i-Sharif’, the resin from these plants makes what has been called the finest old-school hashish known as ‘Shirak-i-Mazar’ (‘Milk of Mazar’).
Typical outdoor harvest times in the northern hemipshere will be between October and early December. Chemotypes vary from high-THC to high-CBD.
